Adam Butler is a Multi-Instrumentalist Musician, Composer, and Audio Engineer based in Dublin, Ireland. He has skills in both recording live musicians, composing musical pieces for film and games, and editing and sound designing audio for all different kinds of media. He is dually passionate about film composition and game audio composition and accustomed to the different techniques they both require.
In terms of musical style, his influences are wide and varied. Being interested both in the droning, experimental and tactile sound of modern horror and the beautiful, lush and grand sound of classical orchestra.
He graduated from the Dun Laoghaire Institute Of Art Design + Technology/Sound Training College achieving a BA Hons First Class Honours in Creative Music Production. Here he acquired proficiency in using industry standard audio production software such as Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton, etc, as well as the middleware programs FMOD and Wwise. His skills also include mixing and mastering techniques and using tools such as EQs, compressors, reverbs, pitching, time alignment, etc.
His audio skills and passion for film has already led him to work on a few short films. One of which, “The Small Makings of a Storm”, has won an award for Best Music and Sound Design at the Dingle Animation Festival 2022.
